CETAC Technologies conducts twice-yearly ICP-AES/ ICP-MS continuing education series. The courses have been designed to appeal to personnel with varying backgrounds and to satisfy the continuing education requirements of quality programs. All courses are held at the CETAC office headquarters in Omaha, Nebraska, USA. Course dates for 2010 are April 19-23 and September 20-24.

An Introduction to Inductively Coupled Plasma Atomic Emission Spectrometry and Laboratory Session (April 19-20 / September 20-21)

The course will include the concept of ICP-AES spectrometry from the physical nature of the source through the various components of the instrumentation. Other topics will include calibration, background correction, interelement effects and performance enhancers. The laboratory session will emphasize hardware components and performance parameters.

An Introduction to Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry and Laboratory Session
(April 21-22 / September 22-23)

The components that comprise an ICP-MS instrument will be described with particular detail for those items that are not in common with ICP-AES systems. Topics such as interferences, data acquisition, sample preparation and accessories will be discussed. Laboratory demonstrations will be used to demonstrate various aspects of ICP-MS spectrometry.

An Introduction to Laser Ablation
(April 23 / September 24)

New for 2010, CETAC is offering a 1-day course highlighting laser ablation techniques used with ICP-AES and ICP-MS. The course will cover the fundamental physics of laser interaction with various matrix types. Instruction will include various calibration strategies and how they are applied to method development for sample introduction into various ICP and ICP-MS detectors. Both typical and new application areas will be covered.

Location and Times:
All courses are held at the training facilities of CETAC Worldwide Headquarters, 14306 Industrial Road, Omaha, Nebraska 68144 USA [map]

Courses are conducted from 8:30AM until 4:30PM. Refer to the course schedule and syllabus for greater detail. Due to the interactive nature of the course, specific break times may vary according to each group’s needs.

Course Fees:
Introduction to ICP-AES & Lab - $900
Introduction to ICP-MS & Lab - $900
Introduction to Laser Ablation - $450

* A $100 course fee discount may be deducted for all additional attendees from the same organization

NOTE: To hold your enrollment in the series you plan to attend, payment must be recieved as follows:

For the April series - April 2, 2010
For the September series - September 3, 2010.

Refund Policy:
100% refund if registrant cancels 10 business days prior to the course; 25% cancellation fee incurred thereafter. Registrants who fail to attend without notifying the administrator are liable for the entire fee. Substitutions are permissible at any time.
