CETAC Technologies announces the Fall 2008 and Spring 2009 ICP-AES/ICP-MS continuing education series. The courses have been designed to appeal to personnel with varying backgrounds and to satisfy the continuing education requirements of quality programs. Two course dates have been established: 20-23 October 2008 and 20-23 April 2009 and will be held at the main office in Omaha, Nebraska, USA.
Course 201 (Oct. 20-21 and Apr. 20-21)
An Introduction to Inductively Coupled Plasma Atomic Emission Spectrometry and Laboratory Session
The course will include the concept of ICP-AES spectrometry from the physical nature of the source through the various components of the instrumentation. Other topics will include calibration, background correction, interelement effects and performance enhancers. The laboratory session will emphasize hardware components and performance parameters.
Course 301 (Oct. 22-23 and Apr 22-23)
An Introduction to Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry and Laboratory Session
The components that comprise an ICP-MS instrument will be described with particular detail for those items that are not in common with ICP-AES systems. Topics such as interferences, data acquisition, sample preparation and accessories will be discussed. Laboratory demonstrations will be used to demonstrate various aspects of ICP-MS spectrometry.
Course Requirements:
Each course is a prerequisite for subsequent courses and, therefore, should be attended sequentially. However, an attendee may ake the next sequential course within one year or attending the prerequisite course.

NOTE: To hold your enrollment in the series you plan to attend, payment must be recieved as follows:
For the October series - by September 15, 2008.
For the April series - by March 1, 2009.
Refund Policy:
100% refund if registrant cancels 10 working days prior to the course; 25% cancellation fee incurred thereafter. Registrants who fail to attend without notifying the administrator are liable for the entire fee. Substitutions are permissible at any time.
