CETAC Introduces the ASX-110FR and ASX-112FR Micro-Autosamplers

The ASX-110FR (Flowing Rinse) Micro-Autosampler was first introduced at the 2007 Pittsburgh Conference as a replacement for the ASX-100 Autosampler. A repackaged version of the ASX-110FR, labeled the ASX-112FR, was introduced in mid 2007. The ASX-112FR is specifically designed to couple with the CETAC Aridus II Desolvating Nebulizer. Both the ASX-110FR and the ASX-112FR are ideal autosamplers for low volume and Ultra Trace applications with ICP-MS and High Resolution ICP-MS systems. All sample racks, vials, trays, and exposed parts are metal-free and made of acid-resistant, high-polymer materials. In addition, all wetted parts are made from inert materials.

The ASX-110FR maintains the advantages of a small footprint and a short sample path. The new dual action flowing rinse station features a separate de-ionized water pre-rinse, followed by an acid rinse to eliminate contamination from sample carryover. The transparent, integrated enclosure prevents contamination from the laboratory environment and is equipped with a convenient front access door. The door allows easy access to the sample tray, even during an automated sequence.

The ASX-112FR footprint matches that of the Aridus II, so the ASX-112FR can be placed directly on the flat top of the Aridus II keeping the sample path as short as possible. The extended deck of the ASX-112FR provides storage space for samples and standards.

Both the ASX-110FR and the ASX-112FR are offered in three different models. The standard model has a polypropylene rinse station filled by an on-board peristaltic pump. A second model has the same polypropylene rinse station filled by an on-board gas displacement pump; while the third model has a PFA rinse station for ultra-clean applications, and is also filled by an on-board gas displacement pump.

A variety of sample racks may be used with the ASX-110FR or ASX-112FR, including those for 0.5 mL, 1.0mL, and 2.0 mL sample vials that are popular with the ASX-100. In addition, special racks are available for 8mL and 15mL sample vials.
