CETAC ICP-AES / ICP-MS Continuing Education Series
CETAC Technologies will be offering two two-day training courses the week of April 2,
2007 at its main office in Omaha, Nebraska, USA. These courses have been specifically
designed to satisfy the Continuing Education requirements of quality programs such as
ISO 9000 and to appeal to personnel with varying backgrounds.
2. Course 201 (April 2-3, 2007).
An Introduction to Inductively Coupled Plasma Atomic Emission Spectrometry and Laboratory Session
The course will include the concept of ICP-AES spectrometry from the physical nature
of the source through the various components of the instrumentation. Other topics will
include inter-element effects, background correction, quantitation, important
accessories, and hyphenated techniques. The laboratory session will emphasize
hardware components and performance parameters.
1. Course 301 (April 4-5, 2007).
An Introduction to Inductively Coupled Plasma
Mass Spectrometry and Laboratory Session
The components that comprise an ICP-MS instrument will be described with particular
detail for those items that are not in common with ICP-AES systems. Topics such as
interferences, data acquisition, sample preparation, and accessories will be discussed.
Laboratory demonstrations will be used to demonstrate various aspects of ICP-MS
spectrometry.
