CETAC Technologies enhances its Mercury Analyzer line with the addition of a Cold Vapor Atomic Fluorescence System
February 28, 2005 (Orlando, Florida)

The QuickTrace™ M-8000 CVAF Mercury Analyzer continues in the tradition of sensitive, reliable, and easy to use CETAC mercury analyzers. The M-8000 is a fully automated CVAF spectrometer capable of achieving detection limits less than 0.05 parts per trillion (ppt) and is EPA method 1631 & 245.7 compliant.

The system is intended for low level unattended testing of mercury by municipalities, environmental labs, and hazardous waste facilities. The dynamic range of the CVAF technology also allows high concentration analysis. Reliable, proven components like the patented Gas-Liquid Separator, QuickTrace™ Software, and CETAC Autosampler were partnered with a proven AF detector. Significant innovations can be found with the inclusion of a clean hood to prevent sample contamination, computer controlled valves to select gold trap concentration or not, and built-in 1631 Calibration selection and error-checking in the method editor.

"Our customers indicated contamination control and bench space were of primary concern. We've minimized the footprint and added an enclosure to address those. We are endeavoring to make this method as easy possible for a lab to offer." - Steve Gunther, Product Manager for CETAC Mercury Analyzers.
