CETAC introduces a compact, bench top CVAA Mercury Analyzer.
Omaha, NE

Where space is a premium, the new instrument takes up 35% less bench space with its 38 x 48 cm footprint than CETAC's QuickTrace™. Depending on the sample rack size, the unit is capable of analyzing up to 60 samples in a single batch. With its 10-1000 ppt detection limit range, it is well-suited to comply with EPA methods 245.2, SWA846-7470, and 3052.

The M-6100A Mercury Analyzer is intended for routine testing of mercury by municipalities, environmental labs, and hazardous waste facilities. The instrument continues in the tradition of sensitive CETAC Mercury Analyzers borrowing the patented gas liquid separator, Nafion® dryer, and optical path from the original M-6000A. Major changes include replacement of the discreet photo-diode detector with a CCD, updated electronics and simple, intuitive software. A manual gas control improves the ruggedness and reliability of the unit while at the same time making it less prone to service.

"The customers we're trying to reach typically have less than 20 people in their laboratory and running anywhere from 15 to 40 samples a week. We've found that this particular group is very cost conscious but still needs an automated system. We've projected an ROI of one year with as few as 15 samples a week," according to Steve Gunther, Product Manager for CETAC Mercury Analyzers.

"The unit is really fast and smooth," says John Swenskie of Sturm Environmental in West Virginia.
