 The ADX-500 is designed to work in conjunction with the QuickTrace™ M-7500 Mercury Analyzer adding the ability to automatically dilute and reanalyze samples, which are over the calibration range. The parameters for initiating a dilution are entered by the user. The user can choose to dilute the sample by between 1:2 and 1:10 when intensity is over the high standard. The autosampler positions used for receiving a diluted sample are set by the user. The software also allows the batch analysis to be suspended if all the dilution tubes are used.
The ADX-500 sits on the corner of the autosampler and utilizes a second sampling probe for sample uptake and dispensing of diluent. The second probe minimizes cross contamination because it is only used for diluting over range samples. A 5.0 mL syringe pump is used to precisely perform the dilution with precision of less than 0.05%RSD. The excellent dilution precision, coupled with the low drift QuickTrace™ gives the user worry free automated sample analysis.
Table 1 shows the analytical signal accuracy of the M-7500 with ADX-500 diluting 1/10 and 1/100. The results of dilution accuracy by weight are shown in Table 2. The accuracy of dilution using the ADX-500 is exceptional, with RSD of less than 0.05%.
