CETAC Technologies has an immediate opening for a European Technical Specialist supporting our entire portfolio of instruments and accessories, throughout Europe. This position will provide first-line support for our European sales channels and their prospects and customers, as well as for our OEM partners and their prospects and customers. The role is active in pre- and post-sales support. This includes attendance at tradeshows and conferences, including presentation of scientific and technical material; creation of technical marketing materials; technical input at selected sales calls; technical training for sales and OEM partners; providing product demonstrations; product installations; customer training; application and technical support and method consultation.

The ideal candidate will have the following attributes:
- Ability to rapidly learn about technical products, in-depth
- Degree or PhD in Analytical Chemistry or related field
- Knowledge and experience of analytical chemistry principles and methods
- Greater than 3 years of practical experience with ICP-AES and ICP-MS
- Experience of technical product demonstrations
- Ability to work independently and responsibly as a scientific professional
- Ability to self-motivate and organize short-, medium- and long-term work plans
- Excellent written and oral communications skills in English language
- Ability to clearly present scientific materials in an open forum setting
- Good teaching skills
- High degree of proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and general email/internet search tools is essential<
- Ability to travel extensively for business purposes (travel up to 50%)
The following attributes would be distinctly advantageous:
- Awareness and familiarity with software, firmware, electronics and basic mechanical engineering
- Prior experience in the scientific instruments business as an Applications Specialist, Technical Support, relevant Product Specialist or Sales role
- Laser Ablation experience
- Additional European language proficiency
Location: Working from home office. Based in the United Kingdom. Strong candidates with residence in other European countries may also be considered.
Travel: Variable travel load, expected around 50 %. This role will require extensive field-based work and applicants must be willing to spend a significant proportion of their time out of the office. Travel will frequently include visits to continental Europe and USA.
Highly competitive package, including car allowance. Salary negotiable dependent upon experience and qualifications.
